Nickel Alloy 200 / 201 Tubing
Description
Alloy 200 offers enhanced resistance to corrosion. This unalloyed wrought nickel provides exceptional magnetic, magnetostrictive and mechanical properties and is a thermal and electrical conductor.
Design features
- Exceptional resistance to corrosive substances, including acid and alkaline
- Variable resistance to mineral acids (based on concentration, temperature, and whether the solution is aerated – better corrosion resistance in non-aerated acids)
- Improved resistance to caustic alkalis, including the molten state
- Good resistance in acid, alkaline and neutral salt solutions
- Prone to attack in oxidizing salt solutions
- Resists room-temperature dry gas
Applications
- Food production and handling of materials such as cool brines, fruit juice and fatty acids
- Vessels for the generation of fluorine and reaction of fluorine with hydrocarbons
- Handling and manufacture of sodium hydroxide, especially in environments above 570° F (299°C)
- Transportation and storing of phenol-immunity from any attack guarantees product purity
- Manufacture of soap and production of viscose rayon – offers general corrosion resistance and protection from intergranular attack above 600° F (316° C)
- Production of hydrochloride and chlorination of hydrocarbons, including ethane, methane and benzene
