Alloy 800H Tubing
Description
Alloy 800 and the similar 800H and 800HP are popular in the construction and manufacture of equipment that requires high strength while resisting corrosion, oxidation, carburization and other detrimental effects of high-heat exposure. Alloy 800HP offers optimal creep and rupture characteristics in high-heat applications. A high nickel content ensures ductility and improves resistance to scaling, corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. Chromium helps resist oxidation and corrosion, and iron helps combat internal oxidation.
Design features
- Good creep-rupture characteristics above 1110° F (599° C)
- No lost ductility during long-term use below 1290° F (699° C)
- Achieve higher temperatures with 800HP and its increased aluminum and titanium content
- Metallurgical stability in high-temperature, long-term applications
- Resistance to nitriding and oxidizing atmospheres, as well as those that fluctuate between oxidizing and reducing conditions
