Description

Alloy 400 offers an exceptional blend of weldability, strength, ductility and corrosion resistance, particularly in seawater in high-velocity applications. Alloy 400 also resists stress corrosion cracking.

Design features

Exceptionally resistant to neutral and alkaline salt as well as caustic alkalis
Alloy 400 is a rare metallic material that can come into contact with fluorine, hydrofluoric acid, hydrogen fluoride and their derivatives
Appropriate in contact with dilute solutions of hydrochloric, sulfuric and other mineral acids, especially when nonaerated
Exceptional mechanical capabilities from sub-zero temperatures to 1020° F (549° C)
